Last week, I had to rush setup a Windows Server 2008 R2 with MS SQL Server 2008 R2, IIS, .Net and other software's, as a staging server run into issues. Even though I have come to understand what is involved in Windows Server setup and other software's, I never quite feel comfortable that I have the know how of all the configurations. I am after all a programmer and not a network administrator, so for me, I have very little knowledge of how to secure the network with Watch Guard or Juniper solutions, they are there but I don't know and what is needed, how to secure them and/or any of my doing are responsible for any of the crises that arise on the network.
